(Ramo!) It’s been a lot of
years since Holly and the Italians made one of the best American/British New
Wave records of the skinny tie-era, and the Chicago born/London discovered/L.A-based/Minnesota
label-having power popper may have dropped a little lower in the vocal
register, but has not lost an ounce of attitude, impact, or skill, as these two
finally honed pieces of pop candy have more personality, depth, and magic than
98.6 percent of the bands playing the International Pop Overthrow fest. Now
with 66% less Italians! (last statement
not factchecked)
