Bob Geldolf "How to Compose Popular Songs That will Sell"

(Mercury) It's a tribute to Geldolf's talents that these songs, a diverse group drawing from a broad palette of mature sounds, styles, and production techniques, actually sounds like a Boomtown Rats record. He was so together as  a young man that he crafted music so distinct that you can hear it even when he takes wide turns. That may sound like a curse rathe than a blessing if you're trying to get away from something, but to me it made this record extra pleasant.
