Oxford American "Southern Music Issue"

( Once again the Southern Music issue was brilliant this year, with the magazine covering everything from Professor Longhair's tenure to Zydeco hip hop to authenticity, the corresponding CD providing a thrilling soundtrack. But to be honest, two issues later they visited a ventriloquist convention and I have not been able to get that crazy piece out of my head. It wasn't even a flawless article, the writer had some imbalance of the personal and reporting at times, but I'll be goddamned if I was not genuinely haunted. I am now convinced that some day I will either become a full time ventriloquist or will be murdered by a dummy.
