Missy minicomic by Daryl Seitchik

(Oily, It used to be kids looked like lazy readers when they read comics instead of “real books”, but for the last decade half of the so-called chapter books they read are in a heavily illustrated, pseudo comics, “diary” form, most having the exact same snide sense of humor, and while I won’t brand the kids as lazy, 90% of the writers sure seem like take-the-easy-route hacks. This somber, funny minicomic takes the pre-adolescent form and makes it exactly what it should be: anon-intentionally funny, matter-of-factly-angstly, awkwardly worded, shittily spelled, work of sublime poetry. The spare yet jarring drawings don’t hurt the cause, either.
